Nina Kathleen Steel Kidd, 93, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, September 7, 2008, at Good Samaritan Village.
Born on January 27, 1915, in Burden, Kansas, she was the daughter of Elmer and Maude (Blakey) Steel. She moved with her parents to Blackwater, MO, where she graduated from high school in 1932. She then attended General Hospital of Nursing in Kansas City, MO, where she graduated in 1940. After graduating she worked as a nurse in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, and California.
Nina was united in marriage to Charles E. Kidd on, December 31, 1948, in Raton, New Mexico. Mr. Kidd preceded her in death in 1980.

Her son: Brad Kidd and wife Salley of Atlanta, KS;
Her son-in-law: Bob Sherrill of Iola, KS;
Her daughter-in-law: Irma Kidd of Wichita, KS;
Her nephew: Jon Kidd of Florida; and
Her 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 12 great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, was preceded in death by an infant son; a sister, Faye Bagby; a brother, Harold Steel; two step-daughters, Sally Sherrill and Berta Lee; and a step-son Terry Kidd.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery in Iola, Kansas. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
