Neoma "Jo" McIver, 80, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, September 22, 2013 at her home in Winfield.
Born February 20, 1933 in Winfield, Kansas she was the daughter of Elmer Ernest and Neoma Lucille (Morris) Kinnamon. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, Kansas graduating from Winfield High School in 1951. While going to school she worked at both the Nile and Regent Movie Theaters.
Jo was united in marriage to Kenneth A. McIver on December 3, 1952 at the Cowley County Courthouse in Winfield, Kansas. The couple made their home in the Winfield area throughout their married lives. Jo began working at St. Mary's Hospital as a Nurse's Aide. She later began working as a custodian for Unified School District 465 in Winfield. She worked at several area elementary schools and in 1974 transferred to the High School, where she remained until her retirement in 1993. Mr. McIver preceded her in death on April 12, 1994.
She was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge for over 55 years. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, doing word searches, and keeping up with local events on her scanner.

Her great-grandchildren: Autumn Ross and Summer Ross both of Arkansas City; and
Her 3 nieces and 4 nephews.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Visitation and Viewing will be held at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield on Wednesday evening, September 25, 2013, from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that evening.
Memorials have been established in Jo's name for Cowley County Meals on Wheels, and for the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
