Nelda "May" (Rowe) Crouse, 80, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday morning, June 22, 2017 at Winfield Rest Haven.

Born February 26, 1937 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Sylvia (Huff) and Duane Rowe. She attended Rose Valley Elementary School and graduated Winfield High School in 1955. May was united in marriage to Norman Crouse on May 8, 1959 in Wellington.

May was employed at St. Mary's Hospital and Paul Lawrence Concrete as a bookkeeper. She later worked for the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center in bookkeeping and accounting. Norman preceded her in death on August 15, 2008.

She was a member of Millington Street Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for several years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and animals and especially loved her family. She was a wonderful wife and mother.

Survivors include:
Her daughter: Carolyn Bruner and husband, Mark of Winfield;
Her brother: Carl Rowe of Arkansas City; and
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, May was preceded in death by a daughter, Carlene Vongbolikhanh on May 16, 1997, sisters, Norma Asbury and JoAnn Sutton and brother, Bill Rowe.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in May's name for Millington Street Baptist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
