Nancy Lee Wells, 78, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away Sunday evening, April 20, 2008 at the Presbyterian Manors in Arkansas City.
Born April 15, 1930 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Julias "Wap" and Lela Jeannette "Jean" (Fester) Reuban. Her family moved to Fredonia, Kansas while she was a little girl and she was raised and received her education in Fredonia graduating from Fredonia High School.
She was united in marriage to Benjamin Wells Sr. on August 2, 1954 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. The couple made their home all throughout the state of Kansas while Ben was a truck driver and worked for Boeing. Nancy was a dedicated homemaker and made caring for her family her life's work. In 1983 Ben retired and they moved to Burden to be near their grandchildren and other family.
Nancy enjoyed playing cards, dice, and bingo. She was an avid NASCAR fan. She also enjoyed the years that she spent as a Foster Grandparent in Cowley County.

Her daughters: Melanie Wright and husband John of Arkansas City; Jeanae Jones and husband Daniel of Cherryvale;
Her sisters: Judy Ward and husband Bill of Fredonia; Joey Cline and husband Ralph of Fredonia; and
Her 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and caregivers who dearly love her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Wells Jr., and her brother Robert Fester.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Inurnment will follow at Burden Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in Nancy's name for the Presbyterian Manors and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
