Nancy Kay Swallow, 79, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 at her home.
Born November 15, 1940 in Dexter, Kansas, she was the daughter of Walter Stockner and Fay (June) Perkins. She was raised and received her education in Arkansas City.
Nancy was united in marriage to Homer Swallow on February 1, 1957 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. The couple made their first home in Wood River, Illinois and later moved to many different cities in the United States due to Homer's work. They spent time in Dallas, Texas, Huntsville, Alabama, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Seattle, Washington. In the late 1970's, they returned to Arkansas City. Nancy enjoyed gardening, shopping at thrift stores, cooking, baking, and spoiling her family.
Her family includes her husband Homer Swallow of Arkansas City; her brother Tommy Edward Perkins and wife, Doris of Arkansas City; her sister Alice Sanborn and husband, Pete of Arkansas City; her nieces, Kelly Lambdin and husband, Kevin of Arkansas City; Stephanie Cassiday and husband, Darin of Arkansas City; and her nephew Jason Perkins of Arkansas City.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a brother, Walter A. "Jim" Perkins.
Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
