Nancy McCann, 68, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away January 6, 2020 at William Newton Hospital.
Born October 1, 1951 in Winfield, she was the daughter of Arthur Murl and Virginia (Fox) Hicks. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, attending C-3 Elementary School and graduating from Winfield High School in 1969. She then attended Cowley County Community College School of Cosmetology. She worked as a hairdresser for a short time before working at Gott-Rubbermaid, and Wal-Mart.
Nancy married John Baucom in 1971. To this union, two children were born. The couple later divorced. She was united in marriage to Keith McCann on August 31, 1996. The couple made their home in Oxford. Nancy worked several years at Boeing. Mr. McCann preceded her in death in 2015.
In 2017, Nancy returned to Winfield. She enjoyed playing bingo, and watching Dr. Phil and Ellen. She especially loved taking care of her great-grandchildren.
Her family includes her daughter Amy Pruitt and husband, Eric of Mesa, AZ; her son Michael Baucom of TX; her brother Roger Hicks and wife, Claudia of Arkansas City; her grandchildren, Laiken Adams of Winfield; Mikayla Mosley and companion, Stephen Barkus of Winfield; Hunter Baucom of TX; Madison Baucom of TX; and her great grandchildren, Kyson Barkus, LaNiah Adams, and Kingston Barkus.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hicks, and a sister Kathy "Jane" Meyers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private inurnment will take place at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors that evening.
A memorial has been established in Nancy's name for Good Shepherd Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
