Obituary

MYRNA RAMIREZ, 61, of Newkirk, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 13, 2008 at Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was born on July 3, 1946 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Leo Ray Hawk, Sr. and Thelma Irine (Cross) Hawk. She was raised and received her education in Amarillo, Texas and later western Kansas.

She was united in marriage to Billy Warren Mills on March 29, 1964 in Garden City, Kansas. The couple made their home in Garden City. To this union, five children were born. The couple later divorced. In 1982, she married Salvador Ramirez in Garden City. The couple later divorced.

She was a housewife for a number of years and then went to work for Flight Deck Restaurant as a cook. Myrna was a member of the Calvary Temple in Newkirk, Oklahoma. She loved to spend time with her family, especially grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to church and church activities and loved to cook. She had a special talent for preparing Mexican food.

Her family includes:
Her sons: Johnny W. Mills of Newkirk; Billy Joe Mills and fiance, Myriam Risso of Newkirk; and Justin Mills and wife Tamatha of Arkansas City;
Her daughter: Debbie Mills and significant other, Eric Williams of Arkansas City;
Her brothers: Leo Ray Hawk, Jr. of Newkirk; and Larry K. Mills of Cherryville, KS;
Her sisters: Berta Bruno of Shawnee, OK; and Uvis Duchart of Grand Marsh, WI; and
Her 5 grandchildren: Annie Lynn, Josiah Dean, Jace Neil, Madicyn Marie, Libertie Paige and Mellissa Kay Mills.

In addition to her mother and biological father, she was preceded in death her step-father, Orval Mills, an infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth, an infant brother, Carl Wayne, a sister, Marcia Mills, and a nephew Jerry Mills, Jr.

Graveside funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery. Friends and family may call at Miles Funeral Service on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. Online condolences may be made at www.milesfuneralservice.com.

A Memorial has been established in Myrna's name to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
