MINNIE WORKMAN-WOOD, 100, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday evening, September 3, 2008, at Cumbernauld Village.

Born on July 3, 1908 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of William Allen and Luvena Fern (Bowman) Workman. She was raised and received her education in rural Winfield.

She was united in marriage to Ernest H. Wood on October 29, 1927 in Winfield. The couple made their home north of Winfield before moving to Burden in the early 1940's. Mr. Wood preceded her in death on April 5, 1982.

She attended the Tisdale United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included embroidery, quilting, flowers and gardening.

Her daughter: Sharon Anglemyer and husband Burl of Dodge City, KS;
Her son-in-law: Delbert Graham of Winfield, KS;
Her grandchildren: Jim Young, Deanna McKinney, Debra Bridges, Ronald Graham, Keith Graham, Marsha Donals, Mark Wood, Mary Blakley, Paul Wood, Chad Anglemyer, Jan Kaufman and Tammy Anglemyer;
Her 24 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Luvena Young and Mary Graham; her brothers, Bill, Carl and Ralph; and her sisters, Edna, Grace, Lucille, Nellie and Nina.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Tisdale United Methodist Church. A viewing will be held at Miles Funeral Service from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., Monday, September 8, 2008. The family will greet friends during that time.

A memorial has been established in Minnie's name for the Tisdale United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
