Minnie Alene Munson, 85, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday night, July 6, 2022, at William Newton Hospital.
Born August 7, 1936, in Stroud, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Arthur Harold and Ethel Ellen (Taylor) Munson. She was raised and received her education in Stroud, graduating from Stroud High School in 1954. Minnie held various jobs in Winfield before beginning her career with the City of Winfield. She worked in Customer Service for the City of Winfield for over 20 years before retiring.
Minnie, or Tiny as she was known to some, was an avid gamer. She enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and gluing them together to make framed photos. She also enjoyed playing dominoes, card games, and scrabble and loved to watch game shows and the Bold and the Beautiful soap opera. She cherished her family, spending time and talking on the phone with them all. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Her family includes her daughter Pamela Fincham and husband, Jeb of Winfield; her son Steve Cook of Wichita; her brothers, Ray Munson; Roy Munson and wife, Neta; Carl Munson and wife, Clarissa; her sisters, Colene Berry; Helen Cook; her grandchildren, Joshua and Nicole Fincham; Hunter and Addison Cook; her great grandchildren, Brianne Fincham and Hesston Soucek; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by a brother Harold Arthur Munson, sisters, Hazel and Vera Irene Munson, Ruth Reno, and Betty Munson, brothers-in-law, Daryl Reno, Ronnie Berry, and William Cook, and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Munson and Marilyn Munson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 until service time. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. A viewing is scheduled at the funeral home for Monday from 4 to 6 P.M.
