Mike Brenn, 70, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, November 14, 2022, at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.
Born November 21, 1951, in St. Francis, Kansas, he was the son of Ernest Wayne and Marian Maxine (Miller) Brenn. He was raised and received his education in Oakley and Tribune, Kansas, graduating from Tribune High School in 1969. He then attended Hutchinson Community College before transferring to Kansas State University where he received his degree in Social Work. While at Kansas State he met the love of his life, Patti Paris.
He was united in marriage to Patricia "Patti" Paris on August 4, 1973, in Oxford, Kansas. The couple made their first home in Concordia where Mike began his career with the State of Kansas as a Social Worker. They later moved to Manhattan before relocating to Winfield in 1979. Mike remained with the State of Kansas for over 35 years, retiring in 2006. After retirement, he worked as a Paraeducator with special needs children for USD 465.
Mike was a member of the Methodist Church. He enjoyed reading, cuddling with his dogs and grandchildren, playing Trivial Pursuit, listening to music, camping at the Bluegrass Festival, and going to Branson.
His family includes his wife Patti Brenn of Winfield; his daughter Emily Roark and husband, Patrick of Winfield; his sons, Andrew Brenn and wife, Kylee of Winfield; Eric Brenn and Kayla Saul of Branson, MO; his sister Carol Rheault of Colorado Springs, CO; and his grandchildren, Cameron Roark, Caden Roark, Kody Brenn, Abby Brenn, Talin Brenn, and Rydin Brenn.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, November 21, 2022, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family burial will be held at Highland Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in Mike's name for the Winfield Youth Wrestling Club and Swim Team. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
