Micki L.
Richey
December 23, 1972 – July 26, 2023
Micki L. Richey, 50, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday evening, July 26, 2023, at her home.
Born December 23, 1972, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Percy B. and Marilyn Kay (Hedges) Littles. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1991.
After high school, Micki worked in food service at Southwestern College for a short time before starting her career in the medical field. Micki served in several positions in the medical field, including CNA, CMA, Restorative Aide, and in-home Caregiver. She worked at the Kansas Veterans Home for over 12 years, until 2019 when she moved to Missouri and worked for a short time for Ralph Lauren Polo. She then returned to Winfield and was currently working for Gentiva Hospice.
She was an avid basketball fan, especially of Lebron James. Anyone that knows Micki, knows that she loved shopping. She also enjoyed city wide yard sales, Black Friday, and playing bingo at the casino. She was always down for a "ride" or road trip, especially when it came time to put the music on. She enjoyed listening to anything R&B, specifically Jodeci, Jon B., and Prince. Nevertheless, Micki loved all genres of music. Her family was her world, she loved spending time with her children and granddaughter Aaliyah Rose.
Her family includes her children, Jazmyn Strange of Winfield; Kaydyn Richey and Jasmine Zapata of Greeley, CO; and Trevyn Stanley of Winfield; her brother Joe Hedges and wife, Emily of Winfield; her sister Ellen Olsson and husband, Erik of Winfield; her granddaughter Aaliyah Strange; and her nephews and nieces, Ty Jackson, Casey Jackson, Katie Jackson, Scout Hedges, Jack Hedges, and Davie Hedges.
Micki was preceded in death by her parents.
