Michael Dean Wright, 76, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 21, 2023, at his home.

Born October 17, 1947, in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was the son of John D. and Dolly Ada (Mixon) Wright.  Michael was raised and received his education in California.  He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1966, serving until his honorable discharge in 1970.  Michael worked as a truck driver based in Sautee, Georgia.  He later moved to Kansas to be near family.  Michael enjoyed fishing and camping.

His family includes his children, Amber Miskell and husband, Devin of Douglass; Matthew King and wife, Amy of Douglass; Sharon Williams and husband, Lloyd of Dahlonega, GA; Jaci King of Georgia; John Michael Wright; and Melissa Wright; his sister Beverly Green and husband, Phillip of Clarkesville, GA; his 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by two brothers, William Joseph Wright and Dwayne Wright; and a sister Nancy Wagner.

Private family services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.
