Michael Ray "Mike" Green, 61, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022, at his home in rural Cedar Vale.

He was born March 23, 1960, in Cedar Vale, Kansas to Cecil Lee Green and Francis Jo (Goss) Green Wells. He grew up in the Cedar Vale area and attended school in Cedar Vale, graduating in the Cedar Vale High School class of 1978. Mike married Jody Richardson on December 26, 1997. The couple lived in Cedar Vale when Mike wasn't pipelining all over the United States and after he retired in September 2019.

Mike was a member of the Pipeliners Local Union 798. He loved spending time with his pipeliner family while on the road. When he was home, he loved taking care of cattle, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Jody of the home; a daughter Kelli Sumner and husband, Keith of Ramona, OK; and an honorary son Joel Mills and wife, Casey of Cedar Vale. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jaci Sumner, Lani Sumner, Laura Mills, and Ruby Mills; cousins, Marijo Roberts and Lisa Hudson of Sedan; and Shirley Kelly of Grainola, OK; a nephew Travis Richardson; and his father and mother in law, Butch and Linda Richardson of Bartlesville, OK. Mike is also survived by his mother Jo; a sister Debbie Lampson and family; a brother David Green and family; and from a previous marriage, a son Taylor Green and family; and a daughter Jordyn Green and family; as well as cousins and extended family.

Mike was preceded in death by his father in 2001.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at the Cowboy Church in Cedar Vale. Burial will follow at his homeplace in rural Cedar Vale followed by a luncheon at the Cowboy Church. After the luncheon, there will be a celebration of Mike's life at the KPR Bar in Cedar Vale. All friends and family are invited. A visitation is scheduled at the church on Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. Miles Funeral Service in Winfield is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in Mike's name for the Cowboy Church in Cedar Vale and the Cedar Vale/Dexter Trap Club in Cedar Vale. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
