Michael G. Marler, 65, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Harry Hynes Hospice at St. Francis in Wichita.

Born June 24, 1955 in Winfield, he was the son of Otis and Loree (Mason) Marler. He was raised and received his education in Winfield. While in high school he moved to southwest Missouri.

Michael was united in marriage to Debra Ball on June 26, 1974 in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield. To this union two children were born. The couple later divorced. Michael spent most of his life in the Winfield area and worked for several years as a Cooper at Greif Brothers. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and spending time with his grandkids.

His family includes children, Shane Marler and wife, Morgan of Peabody; Jessica Marler of Winfield; his brothers, Steve Marler and wife, Linda of Derby; Jim Marler of Winfield; his grandchildren, Coby Kennedy and wife, Kaitlyn; Keegan Kennedy; Laila Kennedy; his great grandchild Brinley Kennedy; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a brother J.T. Marler.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
