Michael Barnard Main, 67, of Winfield, Kansas, previously of Salina, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Kansas Veterans Home.

Michael was born on July 24, 1949 in Wichita, Kansas to Virginia Lea (Barnard) Main. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He entered the Army on June 12, 1970, served two tours and was honorably discharged and transferred to the Army Reserve in 1973. Michael was actively involved in AA (New Beginnings) for eighteen years. He was also a member of Emmanuel Foursquare Church in Salina.

His brother: James Main;
His sisters: Erie Houltberg (Loren); Janis Wearing (Mike); Linda Bledsoe (Bob);
His uncle: Jon Barnard (Sonja); and
Many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Barnard Lechner, his grandmother, Erie Hainstock and grandfather, Virgil Barnard.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment and Military Committal Honors will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Michael's name for the Kansas Veterans Home, Ferguson Hall. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
