Michael A. Anderson, 59, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, August 19, 2014 at his home.

Born March 1, 1955 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Charles and Vonna (Bertene) Anderson. He was raised and received his education in Winfield.

Michael was united in marriage to Melissa Myers on March 19, 1976 in Winfield. The couple made their home primarily in Winfield. Michael worked for Boeing Aircraft for over 7 years. He later went to work for Galaxy Tools as a Tool Maker and Machinist. He enjoyed woodworking.

His sisters: Peggy Sue Schooley and husband, Jim of Burden; Janet Butler and husband, Norman of Winfield; Judy Hiwrade of Winfield; Carol Dougherty and husband, Jim of Winfield; and
His grandchildren: Mary Ellen; Mathew; Zachary; Benjamin; Michaela; and Kati.

In addition to his parents Michael was preceded in death by a brother, John Sickles and his stepfather, Vern Keesey.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials have been established in Michael's name for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and for Harry Hynes Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
