Merl D. Sanborn, 82, of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, March 24, 2021 at South Central Kansas Medical Center.

Born November 14, 1938 in Lowell, Kansas, he was the son of Vernon and Mildred (Graham) Sanborn. He was raised and attended school in Lowell. The family moved to Arkansas City where Merl met Alice Perkins. Merl and Alice were married on June 2, 1962 at the Baptist church in Arkansas City. The couple made their home in Ark City. Merl worked almost 24 years for Greif Brothers. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and archery shooting.

His family includes his wife Alice Sanborn of Arkansas City; his daughter Kelly Lamdin and husband, Kevin of Arkansas City; his sister Lavern Baden of Texas; and his four grandchildren and one great grandson Brody.

Merl was preceded in death by his parents and a son Darryl Sanborn.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. No services are scheduled.
