Meredith Lynn "Midge" Geitgey, 97, of Oxford, Kansas, passed away Thursday afternoon, February 16, 2017 at Medicalodges of Oxford.
Born March 12, 1919 in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of John Arthur and Clintie R. (Conner) Brookings. She was united in marriage to Leslie Geitgey on December 25, 1955 in Monroia, California. She lived in California, New York and back to California before finally moving to Wichita where her husband passed away in 1991. Midge worked and retired from Bank of America.

Her nieces: Janet (Harold) Schanbacher of Udall; Donna (Denver) Bland of Wichita; Doris (Harold) Rhea of St. Louis, MO; Charlena (George) Gomes of Salem, MO; Jane (Tim) Stearman of Denver, CO; and
Les' children: Sandra Von Krog of Thousand Oaks, CA; and David Eugene Geitgey of Virginia.
In addition to her parents and husband, Midge was preceded in death by sisters, Florence Levelle and Lola Mae McPherson, brothers, Clarence and Robert Brookings, and Les' children, Kathryn Allman, Larry Geitgey and Barbara Anderson.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established in Midge's name for the Alzheimer's Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
