MELISSA A. EVANS, 41, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 8, 2012 at Harry Hynes Memorial Center in Wichita.
Born on January 26, 1971 in Bitburg, Germany, she was the daughter of Lauri and Marilyn (Gore) Pyle. She attended elementary school in Wilmington, Delaware. Melissa attended junior high and high school in Benton, Kentucky and graduated from Friendswood, Texas High School in 1989. She also attended community college in Alvin, Texas.
She was united in marriage to Richard Evans on July 2, 2011 in Wichita, Kansas. Melissa had been employed at Cessna for 10 years as a hydro press operator and crew chief. The couple owned and operated a restaurant for a short time.
Melissa was a member of the Home Church in Wichita. She enjoyed children, cooking, reading and loved art, especially drawing.

Her 8 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, north of Waunetta, Kansas.
A memorial has been established in Melissa's name for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
