MAXINE R. WATSON, 83, of Winfield, Kansas passed away Friday afternoon, October 1, 2010 at the William Newton Hospital.
Born March 18, 1927 in Wilmot, Kansas, she was the daughter of Howard and Delpha (Woltz) Calvin. She was raised and educated in Latham, graduating Latham High School in 1946.
Maxine was united in marriage to Forrest Wayne Watson on January 22, 1947 in El Dorado. The couple made their first home in Latham and moved to Atlanta, Kansas in 1964. Mrs. Watson worked for Masters Grocery Store, drove a bus for the Latham school district and for the Central school district, and worked for Citizen's Bank of Kansas in Atlanta. Mr. Watson preceded her in death on June 2, 1981.
Maxine was an avid KU fan. She loved anything KU. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Latham.

Her brothers: Neal and Wayne Calvin;
Her sisters: Doris Keller and Corrine Edwards;
Her grandchildren: Brandy Watson, Cody Crawford, Kristen Watson, Kyle Watson, Mathew Mount, Shawn Mount and Randi Carpenter; and
Her 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Maxine was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Mount, her brothers, Dean and Warren Calvin, and her sisters, Bonita Stein and Wilma Derragh.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday morning, October 5, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Private family inurnment will take place at Latham Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 7 that evening.
Memorials have been established in Maxine's name for the Leukemia Foundation and for the Arthritis Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
