MAX A. MARTIN, 78, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita.
Born on December 17, 1936 in Atlanta, Kansas, he was the son of Harry "Evan" and Helen (Pierce) Martin. He was raised and educated in Atlanta and later Wichita, graduating from East High School in 1955.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Martin proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1976. Part of that time he was a recruiter for the office in Arkansas City, Kansas. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Wichita. He was employed for Quik-Trip and later Wal-Mart as a night stocker for several years.
He was a member of the Ledbetter Church in Wichita. He loved baseball and Kansas State University.

His sisters: Marjorie Ruggles of Wichita, KS; and Judy Patterson and husband Wayman of Tulsa, OK;
His granddaughter: and
Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield. A viewing will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M., Friday.
A memorial has been established in Max's name for the Kansas Veterans Home. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
