Max Erwin Logsdon, 85, retired math teacher and school administrator, passed away peacefully in his home on March 11, 2021 in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Born May 11, 1935 in Atlanta, Kansas, he was the son of Elmer and Verina (Cummins) Logsdon. He graduated from Gorham High School in 1954. Max married Catherine Weigel on September 17, 1955. The couple had six children, Cathy Sue, Lewis, Alan, Cindy, David, and Max and later divorced. Max received his Bachelor in Elementary Education in 1972 and his Masters in 1974 from Fort Hays.
He was united in marriage to Mary L. (Matheson) Atteberry on July 1, 1976 and moved to Hamilton, Kansas. The couple was blessed with one daughter Mary Eva Angela Logsdon. Max retired from Dexter School District as Superintendent in 1996.
He enjoyed flying his plane, traveling, woodworking, drinking coffee with friends, casino tournaments, and most of all, spending time with his late wife Mary, whom he missed dearly.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, his brothers, Chuck and Carl, his daughter Cynthia Hagen, and two grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Angela Logsdon of Winfield; Cathy Barber of Choctaw, OK; Lewis Logsdon of Emporia; Alan Logsdon of Russell; Max Logsdon of Emporia; David Logsdon of Udall; his step-children, Pam Stearns of Spanaway, WA; Larry Atteberry of Larned; Kyle Atteberry of Larned; 23 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and a sister Betty of Pratt.
According to Max's wishes, no services are scheduled. Burial has taken place at Janesville Cemetery in Hamilton, Kansas under the direction of Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.
