MATTHEW "POOBEAR" RAY McLAUGHLIN, 21, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 due to injures sustained in an automobile accident south of Newkirk, Oklahoma.

Born on September 20, 1991 in Claremore, Oklahoma, he was the son of Colbert L. and Debra D. (Foust) McLaughlin. He was raised and received his education in Winfield. He was currently employed for Nowalk Construction in Goddard, Kansas.

Matt loved spending time with his family, his dog Daisy Dawn, fishing, hunting and going to casinos.

His family includes:

His brother: Cody McLaughlin of Winfield, KS;
His sisters: Misty and Juathina McLaughlin both of Winfield, KS;
His maternal grandparents: Carlene Foust of Tulsa, OK; Butch Foust of Tulsa, OK; and Sherri Miller of Winfield, KS;
His paternal grandparents: Gene and Jan McLaughlin of Dexter, KS; and Linda Daniels of Dexter;
His girlfriend: Destiny Hornbeck of Guthrie, OK;
His niece Chloe and nephew Ziya;
His great-aunt: Carol Shields of Winfield, KS; and
Several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his niece Haley Dawn.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 17, 2012 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, December 16, 2012.

A memorial has been established in Matt's name for SIDS. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
