Mary A. (Parker) Satterlee, 103, passed away on December 10, 2023, at Cumbernauld Village.

Born on September 5, 1920 to Raymond and Eula Parker. She graduated from Cushing High School in 1938. She went to Arkansas City Junior College to get her teaching degree, teaching for several years.

She married Paul Satterlee on May 27, 1942. The couple made their first home in Winfield, Kansas. While Paul served in World War II, Mary joined the fight by working at Boeing. After the war, the couple moved around, but returned to Winfield. In 1974, they found their dream farm. Mary dearly loved that place, playing with her grandchildren, gardening, and fishing. Mary was a homemaker, volunteered at her church and hospital, and was a devoted Sunday School Teacher. She was a very talented seamstress, making quilts and her own clothes. There wasn't much Mary couldn't do when she put her mind to it. She loved baking and it was always a special treat for her grandchildren to make decorated Christmas cookies every year.

Mary is survived by her son Gary (Peggy) Satterlee; her grandsons, Bryan, Scott, and Mark Satterlee; her granddaughters, Michele Eckermann, Robin Westmoreland, and Jill Conaway; and her 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters, Janet and Carol, son Richard, and two brothers and three sisters.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Star Valley Cemetery east of Udall, Kansas. Services will be under the direction of Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.

A memorial has been established in Mary's name for Grandview United Methodist Church.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
