In 1970, the couple moved to Knoxville, Iowa, in 1973 to Pomona, Kansas, and in 1977, they moved to Udall, Kansas. While in Udall, Mary returned to nursing at William Newton Hospital, where she remained until retiring in 2003. In 2004, Don and Mary moved to Winfield to be closer to family.
