Obituary

Mary A. Miller, 85, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 4, 2020 at her home.

Born July 21, 1935 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Truman and Dorothy (Sweet) Harrington. She was raised and received her education in Grenola, Kansas, graduating from Grenola High School in 1954.

She was united in marriage to Charles Lee Miller on August 21, 1954 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moline, Kansas. The couple made their first home in Moline and later moved to Wichita. In 1969 the family moved to Winfield where Mary began working for Binney & Smith. She remained at Binney & Smith for over 27 years, retiring in 1997. She was proud to be a member of the Binney & Smith 25 Year Club. Charles preceded her in death on June 28, 2013. Mary enjoyed flowers, listening to music, doing crafts, and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.

Her family includes her children, Charlie Miller and wife, Chris of Winfield; Trudy Minkler and Glenn Pappan of Winfield; Teresa McCoy and husband Tom of Mont Belvieu, TX; James Miller of Winfield; Timothy Miller of Winfield; her brother James Harrington and wife, Janet of Howard; her sisters, Carolyn Chrisman of Winfield; Beth Moore of Grenola; her aunt Shirley Gillespie; her grandchildren, Jessica Denton of Mont Belvieu, TX; Holly McWilliams of Geuda Springs; Danielle Wilson of Mont Belvieu, TX; Erin Miller and Bryan Clark of Winfield; Kelsey Miller and husband, Lance of Wills Point, TX; Nathan Miller and wife, Lindsay of Winfield; and her great grandchildren, Shailee Denton, Kyson Clark, Reese McWilliams, Jaelyn Denton, Grayson Wilson, and Tripp Miller.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a sister Margaret Ann Harrington and two brothers-in-law, Tim Chrisman and Darrel Moore.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 6 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 2 to 4 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Mary's name for Good Shepherd Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
