Mary Ann Kilgore, 83, of Winfield, passed away Monday morning, September 13, 2021, at her home.

Born July 31, 1938, in Buffalo, New York, she was the daughter of Edward P. and Florence (Reynolds) Simon.  Mary was raised and received her education in Buffalo.

Mary was united in marriage to Billy Doyle Kilgore, Sr., in Alden, New York on March 29, 1958.  The couple made their first home in Alden and later moved to Batavia, New York.  To this union came their five children, Billy Doyle, Jr., Gary Alan, Debra Ann, Catherine Anne, and Robert Lawton.  In 1995, the family moved to Kansas to be near family.  Billy, Sr. preceded Mary in death on November 27, 2011.

Mary was a caregiver for her mother and a homemaker.  In addition, she held various retail positions.  Mary enjoyed cooking, reading, keeping up with her vegetable garden, and canning her produce.

She is survived by her children, Billy Doyle Kilgore, Jr.; Gary Alan Kilgore; Debra Ann Kilgore Clattenburg; Robert Lawton Kilgore; her 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine Anne Kilgore; and her siblings, Edward W. Simon; Arthur D. Simon; Judith R. Simon; Jeanette M. Simon; and Caroline B Simon.

The family will hold private memorial services at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.
