Obituary

MARY FRANCES GURNEE, 86, previously of Winfield, passed away Saturday morning, November 19, 2011 at Riverview Manor in Oxford.

Born February 25, 1925 in Republic, Greene County, Missouri, she was the daughter of Charles Homer and Eula Essie (Wilson) Williams. Her family moved to Douglass, Kansas when Mary Frances was in the 5th grade. She graduated from Douglass High School.

She was united in marriage to Junior Lee Gurnee on January 31, 1946 in Wichita. The couple resided in Missouri for a year before making their home in Winfield in 1947. Mary Frances was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and washing dishes. Lee preceded her in death on January 30, 1998.

Her grandchildren: John Stout and wife, Marsha; Bobbie Stout and wife, Vernan; Heidi Estabrook; Heather Deets and husband, Dale; Justin Beamer and wife, Angie; Jason Beamer and wife, Monica; and Lori Vaden and husband, Cory;
Her great grandchildren: Delenn Estabrook, Jeremy Stout and wife, Derek Stout, Noah Stout, Aricka, MacKenzie, John, and Peter Stout, Coty and Stetson Deets, David and Jolly Stiggett, Bradley Beamer, Bionca Beamer, Josiah and Aaron Beamer of Kentucky, Rocky Landwehr, Cassandra Beamer, Deidra and Alexandrea Shiever, Owen and Alivia Beamer.
Her great-great grandchildren: E.Marie and Brylee Stout; and
Her brother-in-law: Victor Gurnee of Winfield.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary Frances was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Lou Gurnee-Stout in 1996.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 P.M.

A memorial has been established in Mary Frances' name for the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
