Obituary

MARY "LORRAINE" DONOHUE, 87, of Winfield, Kansas, entered into eternal rest on March 15, 2010 at William Newton Hospital.

Born April 23, 1922 in Cedar Vale, Kansas she was the daughter of George and Addie (Groene) Holverson. She was raised and educated in Cedar Vale, graduating from Cedar Vale High School. Lorraine was united in marriage to Gerald Donohue on September 12, 1940 in Cedar Vale. Mrs. Donohue made her career as a homemaker, taking care of her family. Gerald preceded her in death on November 18, 1982.

Lorraine was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and also a member of the Dale Club. She loved babysitting and taking care of children. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing and taking care of her violets.

Her family includes:
Her son: Jim Donohue and wife, Martha of Valley Center, Kansas;
Her brother: Ole Holverson of Wellington, Kansas;
Her grandchildren: Aaron McAlister, Becky McAlister, Marcia Seltmann and husband, Tim, and Kevin Donohue and wife, Nicole;
Her 10 great-grandchildren; and
A host of nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Name Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 at the church. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials have been established in Mrs. Donohue's name for the American Heart Association and for Holy Name Catholic Church. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
