MARY E. BRUNER, 58, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, May 27, 2008, at William Newton Hospital.

Born on September 11, 1949, she was the daughter of Gilbert and Florence Aldeene (Mowder) Thomson. She was raised and received her education in Winfield.

She was united in marriage to Rex Bruner on July 12, 1969, in Winfield, where the couple made their home and raised their children. The couple later left the Winfield area for employment reasons, but recently returned to the community.

Mary was a member of the Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed golfing and especially enjoyed spending time with her family; going to the movies, baseball games and playing with her grandchildren. Family was the most important thing to her.

Her sons: Matthew Bruner and wife, Phim of Edmond, OK; Christopher Bruner and wife, Teri of Winfield KS;
Her mother: Florence "Aldeen" Thomson of Winfield;
Her sisters: Margaret Carroll and husband, Graydon of Newkirk, OK; Judith Summitt and husband, Bill of Muldrow, OK; Linda Wolff of Winfield; Barbara Schultz and husband, Brad of Oxford, KS;
Her grandsons: Alex and Chase Bruner of Edmond, OK; and
Her many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Gilbert Thomson, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. at Central Baptist Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Friday, from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
