Born March 29, 1924, in Rago, Kansas, she was the daughter of Roy and Jean (Laurie) Williams. She was raised and educated in Norwich, graduating from Norwich High School in 1943. Mary was a member of First United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of PEO Chapter CU. She was employed at Winfield Floral and later Kerr's Department Store. Fellow employees and many customers remember Mary as a very friendly and helpful individual.

Mary enjoyed word puzzle books, sewing, and quilting. One of her quilts, a beautiful original designed poinsettia pattern, was proudly displayed at the Cowley County Historical Society Museum. The Brummett's had great fun as part of a Bridge Club that included their best friends, the Hieberts, Brunings, Medleys, Kellers, Chisums, and Tredways.

Her family includes her children, Jeana Hahn, Nan Hinson (Hal), Mike Brummett (Karla); grandchildren, Shannon Parker (Craig), Sarah Powers, Christopher Brummett (Jamie), Abby Snodgrass (Nate), Dane Brummett (Kristen); great grandchildren, Jack Parker (Emily), Grace Parker, Eli Brummett, Will Brummett, Eva Snodgrass, Kate Snodgrass, Lauren Snodgrass, Alex Snodgrass; and nephews, John Roy Williams (Mary) and Bruce Williams (Lisa).
