Obituary

Marvin Lynn Lauffer, 76, former resident of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL.

Marvin was born on November 27, 1946, in Winfield, KS, to Gene and Lodean (Miller) Lauffer. He grew up and attended school in Grenola, KS, graduating from Grenola High School in 1964. After graduation, Marvin served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was later honorably discharged and returned home to Moline, KS.

Over the years, Marvin held many jobs including sheriff deputy, Elk County equipment operator, truck driver and security guard.

Survivors include his daughters, Rhonda (Bryan) Howell of Neodesha; Wendy (Lance) Guiou of Neodesha; his son Nick (Laurie) Lauffer of Pratt; his step-daughter Becky (Allen) Kearns of Winfield; his 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; his brother Fred Lauffer of Winfield; his sisters, Sheryl Dunbar of Girard; Pam Feaster of Winfield; Deanna Burns of Winfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His wife Lori and his parents preceded him in death.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
