Marvin D. Hostetter, 73, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, December 23, 2019 at William Newton Hospital.

Born July 4, 1946 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Verl and Martha (Muret) Hostetter. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1964. Marvin married Cheryl Greenleaf. To this union, one daughter, Amanda Hostetter, was born. The couple later divorced.

Marvin was united in marriage to Virginia "Louise" Peters on April 16, 1992 at Hackney Baptist Church. With this union, Louise's children, Wade and Amy Crain, joined his family. They made their home south of Winfield. Marvin made his career as a lifelong farmer and rancher. He loved the land and continued his family's tradition on the same ground his father and grandfather worked. Louise preceded him in death on November 29, 2018.

He was a member of Hackney Baptist Church where he served on the board for many years. He also served on the Valley Coop Board.

His family includes his children, Wade Crain and wife, Kristy of Manhattan; Amy White and husband, Brian of Winfield; brother Phil Hostetter of Andover; and his grandchildren, Kaden, Kinley, and Kyndal Crain and Riley, Macy, and Connor White.

In addition to his parents and wife, Marvin was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Hostetter and a brother, Keith Hostetter.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Central Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.

Memorials have been established in Marvin's name for Hackney Baptist Church and for the Ronald McDonald House. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
