Marvin L. Buchele, 92, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, May 5, 2024, at his home.

Born January 1, 1932 in Cedar Vale, Kansas, he was the son of Charles "Ned" and Thelma Grace (Noland) Buchele.  Marvin and his brother grew up on a farm near Grenola and he graduated from Grenola High School in 1950.  He then attended and graduated from Coffeyville Community College in 1952.  Marvin was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.  He served his country from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1955.  He then went on to attend Pittsburg State University, graduating with a degree in business in 1959.

Marvin farmed with his father until 1974.  He moved to Winfield and worked at Cessna and the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center.  He was united in marriage to Gayle (Ramey) Randel on June 21, 1976 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The couple made their home in Winfield.  Marvin went to work for the City of Winfield, retiring in 1996.  Gayle preceded him in death on September 12, 2023.

Marvin enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  He especially enjoyed fishing at the Stark Park in Coffeyville and Roaring River State park in Missouri with his brother Keith.  Marvin was known by his family and friends to collect various items and if you were ever in need of a flashlight, gloves, fishing supplies, and more, he was happy to help.

His family includes his daughter Judy Powell of Burden; brother Keith Buchele of Coffeyville; his nephews, Mark Buchele of Overland Park; Dr. Alan Buchele and wife, Sheila of Carl Junction, MO; Curtis Buchele of Coffeyville; four step-grandchildren; and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Marvin was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Eva Mae Morrow Buchele and step-son Clay Randel.
