Martha A. Wright, 80, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, May 04, 2011 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington.
Born November 02, 1930 in Winfield, Kansas she was the daughter of Ralph and Edna (Mumaugh) Barnthouse. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1948.
Martha was united in marriage to Garland G. Wright on September 06, 1959 at the First Christian Church in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield. Martha worked for Winfield SRS for over 47 years until retiring in 1995. Mr. Wright preceded her in death on February 12, 1985.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Winfield. She enjoyed yard work, bingo, and taking bus trips. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family who she adored.

Her brother: Harry Barnthouse and wife, June of Winfield;
Her sisters-in-law: Elaine Barnthouse of Winfield; Jody Barnthouse of Arkansas City; and
Many nieces, nephews, stepchildren, and step grandchildren who will remember her with fondness and her generosity.
In addition to her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by her three brothers, William, James and Richard Barnthouse.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, May 7, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday May 06, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in Martha's name to Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Oxford. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
