MARTHA MILLER, 93, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday morning, October 2, 2008 at Via Christi/St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

Born on February 2, 1915 in Caldwell, Kansas, she was the daughter of Henry and Anna (Nisple) Kollmorgen. She was raised and received her education in rural Caldwell, Kansas.

She was united in marriage in 1941 to Ralph Miller in Caldwell. The couple made their home in the Grandview community. To this union, two children were born. The couple later divorced and Martha moved to Winfield.

She was employed at William Newton Memorial Hospital for over 35 years in the food service department. Martha was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Winfield for 40 years. She was known for walking everywhere she went. She also enjoyed making monkey bread with her grandchildren and making care packages for missionaries over seas.

Her family includes:
Her daughters: Kay Spencer of Winfield, KS; Karen Godfrey and husband Tim of Sacramento, CA;
Her grandchildren: Kenneth Spencer, Jr., of Enid, OK; and Kristine Baker of Hutchinson, KS;
Her 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 8 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday , October 7, 2008 at the Assembly of God Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at the Caldwell Cemetery in Caldwell, Kansas. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., Monday, October 6, 2008. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., that evening.

Memorials have been established in Martha's name for Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
