Obituary

Martha Fetterhoof Logan, 86, of Winfield, Kansas passed away Monday night, September 25, 2023, at her home.

Born November 10, 1936 in Topeka, she was the daughter of Vernon E. and Shirley E. (Barkes) Fetterhoof.  She was raised and received her education in Topeka.  Following high school, Martha attended Kansas University, Kansas State University, and Southern Methodist University.  She later attended Sacramento State University in California, graduating with her Bachelor degree in 1980.

On August 5, 1956, Martha was united in marriage to Samuel Herschel Logan in Topeka.  The couple made their first home in Dallas, Texas.  In 1959, they moved to Berkeley, California, and in 1962, to Davis, California.  Martha worked at Bank of America in Davis for a time before becoming the accountant at several different construction companies including Ridge Builders Group, from where she retired as head bookkeeper in 1992.  The family returned to Kansas in 1995, making their home in Winfield.

Martha was a member of First United Methodist Church and Hackney Community Baptist Church, as well as Bible Study Fellowship and the Walnut Valley Quilt Guild.  Among her many talents and hobbies, she enjoyed reading, quilting, sewing, and stained glass.

Her family includes her husband Samuel Logan of Winfield; her sons, Roger W. Logan of Randolph, MA; Dennis L. Logan and wife, Martina of Dixon, CA; her grandchildren, Christine Lewis of Eskridge; Karoline Logan of Dixon, CA; Caleb Logan of Dixon, CA;  her brother Jon M. Fetterhoof of Topeka; and two great grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service.   Private family interment will follow at Union Graham Cemetery. Per Martha's request, please wear bright colors to her service.

A memorial has been established in Martha's name for the Vernon E. Fetterhoof Scholarship at Kansas State University. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
