Obituary

Marsha L. Stout, 47, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, February 21, 2018 at her home.

Born October 23, 1970 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Wayne and Cora (Goertz) Smalley. She was raised and received her education in Udall, graduating from Udall High School in 1989. After school, she went to work for Westview Nursing Home in Derby and later, Beech Aircraft.

Marsha was united in marriage to John Stout on July 9, 1994 in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield where Marsha went to work for Able Computer Services. She also worked for Creative Community Living and Mosaic. In 1998, Marsha became a leader in the Boy Scouts of America. She held several positions within the scouting organizations, including leader of Troop #318, as well as serving as a District Leader, organizing and leading many camps, both at the district and local levels.

She was a member of Crossroads Community Church and the Boy Scouts of America. She enjoyed scouting, camping and spending time with family and friends.

Her sons: Jeremy Michael Stout and wife, Tonya of Winfield; Derek Jonathan Stout of Winfield; Noah Phillip Stout of Winfield;
Her father: Wayne Smalley and wife, Renate of Udall;
Her mother: Cora Frazee of Wichita;
Her brother: Chad Smalley and wife, Marilee of Derby;
Her sister: Nikki McCarthy and husband, John of El Dorado; and
Her grandchildren: Brylee and Emarie Stout of Winfield.

Marsha was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Orval and Sarah Ellen Goertz, her paternal grandparents, Ray and Irene Smalley and her step-father, Ted Frazee.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at First Church of the Nazarene. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

A memorial has been established in Marsha's name for Boy Scout Troop #318. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
