Obituary

Marlon Elliot Lear, 34, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday evening, May 7, 2017 at his home, due to complications of diabetes.

Born November 18, 1982 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Roger G. and Deann (Hendrickson) Lear. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 2001. Marlon grew into a man of many talents, including becoming a talented craftsman, CNA and electrician. He worked at Winfield Rest Haven for two years before becoming a journeyman electrician for R&S Electric for seven years. He then returned to his love of being a CNA at the Kansas Veterans Home.

Marlon was a charismatic man with a contagious smile. He lit up the room wherever he went. He loved his family and friends dearly and had the ability to make friends everywhere he went. He was a one in a million person and could make anyone smile. Marlon's hobbies included woodworking and building things and as a young boy, enjoyed digging in the dirt.

His family includes:
His parents: Roger and Deann Lear of Winfield;
His sisters: Gretchen Lear of Augusta; Audra Hittle and husband, Kane of Winfield:
His nieces: Lydia and Caroline Hittle of Winfield:
Companion: Tina Shullaw of Winfield; and
His grandmother: Lola E. Hendrickson.

Cremation has been effected. Private family services will be held at a later date. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in Marlon's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
