Obituary

MARK KNOTT, 53, of Winfield, passed away Sunday morning, June 14, 2009, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

Born January 30, 1956 in Minnesota, he was the son of Leslie and Genevieve Knott. He was raised in Minnesota and Texas and moved to Winfield, Kansas at the age of 17.

He joined the William Newton Hospital EMS team at the age of 18. Mark then attended Butler County Community College where he received his RN degree. He continued working as a nurse for William Newton Hospital.

Mark was united in marriage to Sherry Miller in Guthrie, Oklahoma on March 2, 2007. The couple made their home in Winfield. He enjoyed driving his old cars, going on rides and taking trips. Mark also enjoyed helping others learn his field.

His family includes:
His wife: Sherry of the home;
His sons: Gary Miller and wife, Melanie of Washington D.C.; and Richard Miller of Washington D.C.;
His daughter: Wendi Miller of Winfield;
His sister: Kathryn Knott of Minneapolis, MN; and
His grandchildren: Treyton, Serenity and Justin Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been effected. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Private family inurnment will be take place at a later date.

Memorials have been established in Mark's name for Hospice Care of Kansas and for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
