MARJORIE ANN MORRIS, 85, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 4, 2013 at her home.
Born July 7, 1927 in Moline, Kansas, she was the daughter of Bert and Myrtle (Anderson) Bennett. She was raised and received her education in Howard, Kansas, graduating Howard High School in 1944.
Marjorie was united in marriage to Willard L. Morris in January 1946 in Wichita. The couple lived in Howard where Mrs. Morris worked as an accountant for a Ford Dealership. They moved to Winfield in 1958 and Marjorie went to work for Edward B. Stevenson as a bookkeeper. She worked there for several years, and later at the Oxford nursing home as a bookkeeper and retired at the age of 75. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard on January 2, 2013.
Mrs. Morris was a member of the VFW Post 3544 Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 10 Ladies Auxiliary. She and Willard enjoyed traveling to the west coast for several years. She enjoyed quilting and playing slot machines and was an expert at 7 card stud. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Her son: Willard Morris, Jr. and companion, Sara Martin of Winfield;
Her daughter: Gayle Walter and husband, Danny of Arkansas City;
Her daughter-in-law: Cheryl Morris of Hutchinson;
Her grandchildren: Matthew, Elizabeth, Erin, Erica, Ellen, Katie, Karie, Kami and Kristi; and
Her 9 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by her son, Danny L. Morris, her brother, Bill Bennett, and her sisters, Jean Gray and Nonie Spencer.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Inurnment will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery.
Memorials have been established in Marjorie's name for the VFW Post 3544 Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 10 Ladies Auxiliary. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
