Obituary

MARION ELMIRA MIGNONE, 85, of Winfield, Kansas passed away on September 5, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.

Marion Garner was born in Flushing, New York but raised in Garden City, New York. She worked on a farm after school, which she loved. Marion also worked in a hospital as a teenager until the time she got married. She was united in marriage to Joseph Mignone in 1949, and the couple made their first home in Commack, New York. They had two children, Louis and Kathleen. They moved to Winfield in 1985 until 1991 when they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1995, they moved back and made Winfield their home. In 2009, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Marion liked to embroider, crochet and put puzzles together. She enjoyed playing golf, she got the love of the game from her husband. She also liked to fish, read mystery books, and watch mystery movies. She enjoyed listening to 70's music, especially disco music.

She loved her family and was a good mom. She will be missed by family and friends.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Mignone, her parents, Elmira and Lloyd Garner, her uncles, Sam, Buck and James Townsend, and her aunts, Irene and Edna Townsend.

Survivors include:
Her son: Louis Mignone of Winfield;
Her daughter: Kathleen Mignone of Winfield;
Daughter-in-law: Julie Mignone of Winfield; and
Brother-in-law: Louis Mignone of Bethpage, New York.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in Marion's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
