Marilyn Delores Thomas, 87, of Winfield, passed away Monday night, June 8, 2020 at William Newton Hospital.

Born October 8, 1932 in Winfield, Marilyn was the daughter of Earl and Mary (Kilts) Schwantes.  She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1950.  She married John W. Thomas in January 1952, and the couple made their home in Winfield.

Marilyn worked various jobs including being a nurse's aid at the hospital, making and labeling crayons at Binney & Smith, and managing The Buzz Inn.  She also helped run John's CB & Electronics, the family business located in the family home, until her retirement in the early 2000s.

She enjoyed collecting dolls, gardening, the outdoors and, in her younger years, fishing.  She especially loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dog, a Shih Tzu name Nikki.

Marilyn's family includes her daughters, Victoria Thomas of Parsons; and Gina Jones of Winfield; her grandchildren, Tracy Johnson of Parsons; Walter T. Largent of Coppell, TX; Cory Largent and wife, Trisha, of Parsons; and Leroy Kastler and wife, Brittnay, of South Coffeyville; as well as 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband of over 50 years, Marilyn is preceded in death by her grandson, John Allen Largent.

Cremation has taken place.  Private graveside memorial services will be held at a later date.  Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established in Marilyn's name to help defray funeral expenses.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
