Obituary

Marilyn A. Roberson, 72, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday evening, February 02, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Society.

Born September 09, 1938 in Elk City, Kansas, she was the daughter of George P. and Cecil M (Tharp) Horton. She was raised and received her education in several towns in southeastern Kansas including, Elk City, Howard, and Winfield. The family settled in Wichita and Marilyn attended West High School, graduating in 1957.

Marilyn was united in marriage to Doyle Ray Roberson on April 01, 1976 in Wichita, Kansas. The couple made their first home in Mulvane, but soon moved to Udall, where Marilyn began working for the school district as a cook. She remained with the school district for several years until retiring in the early 1990's. Mr. Roberson preceded her in death on February 10, 2003.

Marilyn was a faithful member of the Udall Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed camping, sewing, crafts, fishing, and spending time with her dogs. She especially enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events.

Her family includes:
Her sons: Kevin Davis of Winfield; Mike Davis of Mulkeytown, IL;
Her sisters: Barbara Heyman of Winfield; Connie Humfeld of Abilene, TX; and
Her grandchildren: Shane Davis; Tyler Davis; and Kevin Davis.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 08, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Udall Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow at the Udall Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, February 07, 2011 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. The family will greet visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Mrs. Roberson's name for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
