Marilyn Faye Philips (Zortman), 86, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024.

No services are scheduled per Marilyn's request.  Burial will take place in Fowler, Kansas under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.

Donations in honor of Marilyn are suggested to be made to the Winfield Food Pantry and may be made through the funeral home.

Marilyn was born October 2, 1937, in Dodge City, Kansas, to Herman Orvel and Minnie Mae (Figgins) Zortman.  She graduated from her home town high school in Fowler.  She then attended Stormont-Vail School of Nursing and Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, graduating in 1958.  She met Richard Ellis Philips while in nurses training and they married August 27, 1959, in Fowler.  Marilyn worked as a registered nurse, then later as a Director of Nurses in Kansas and Oklahoma.  She enjoyed her time with family, traveling, quilting, collecting antiques, and researching her family genealogy.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Carol Misora, Alan Philips, and Lynne (Adam) Foster; her grandson Stuart Misora; her sisters, Donna Markley, Frances Sigley; brother Dale Zortman; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson Garrett Misora, and older sister Marie Bayha.
