Obituary

Marilyn J. Chilcott, 64, of Atlanta, passed away Saturday morning, June 27, 2009 at Via Christi St Francis in Wichita.

Born August 2, 1944 in Winfield she was the daughter of Lee and Marie (Adams) Hall. She was raised and received her early education in the Atlanta area, attending Lone Star School House through the eighth grade. She then attended Douglass High School graduating valedictorian in 1962.

Marilyn was united in marriage to Fred E. Chilcott at the Atlanta United Methodist Church on November 21,1962. The couple made their home in the Atlanta area in the old school house that Marilyn had attended in grade school. She was a cherished, loving and devoted homemaker, who also worked 14 years for Dr. John Roger Hall in Wichita.

She was a lifelong member of the Atlanta United Methodist Church where she attended until its closing, she then became a member of the Douglass United Methodist church, and the Douglass United Methodist Women. Her hobbies included gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, fishing, baking, and was famous for the cherry pies and candy that she made.

Her family includes:
Her husband: Fred Chilcott of the home;
Her daughters: Michielle R. Doll and husband, Kendle of Burden; Tina M. Henry and husband, Don of Benton;
Her sisters: Leola Little and husband, Duane of Douglass; Marcile Schooley and husband, Richard of Burden;
Her brother: Joe Hall and wife, Kay of Atlanta; and
Her grandchildren: Preston Lee Doll and Morgan Marie Henry.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother, Milton Hall.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Douglass United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Douglass Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Tuesday evening June 30, 2009 from 5 to 9. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.

Memorials have been established in Mrs. Chilcott's name for Pancreatic Cancer Research, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, and the Douglass United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
