H. Marguerite Reece, 92, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday morning, May 4, 2012 at Cumbernauld Village in Winfield, Kansas.
Marguerite was born March 4, 1920 at the Claude Sitton family home, on Rural Route Burden, Kansas, to Ross and Hazel (Tredway) Sitton. She received her early education at New Salem and graduated from Burden High School in May of 1937.
She was united in marriage to Wendell Reece, of Oxford, Kansas at the Court House in El Dorado, Kansas, on December 14, 1937. The couple made their home in Oxford, before moving to Washington D.C., where her husband was employed by the Corp of Engineers. After the war he transferred to California. While in Washington D.C., and California, Marguerite worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation for nine years. She was also employed by Autonetic's in California.

Her great-grandchildren: Michael Reece and wife, Bette Jean of Greenville, SC; Alica Reece of Fairmont, WV; Emily Reece of Fairmont, WV; Morgan Reece of Fairmont, WV; Nathan Reece of Fairmont, WV; Calab Reece of Hannibal, MO; Joshua Reece of Hannibal, MO; Elliot Reece of Hannibal, MO; and
Several nieces and nephews which include: Pat Lundy of Burden, KS; Karen Fouts of Costa Mesa, CA; Martha Bolack of Littleton, CO; Claudine Wilson of Littleton, CO; Jim Sitton of Lakewood, CO; Jeanette Lyke of Cedar Vale, KS; and a close friend Collene Smith of New Salem, KS.
In addition to her parents and husband Marguerite was preceded in death by her son, Michael Reece, three brothers, Jackie, Claude, and Bud Sitton, and one sister, Ruth Ann Lyke.
A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
