Obituary

Margle Rea Skiles, 88, of the Winfield Kansas Veterans' Home, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 4, 2020.

She was born June 5, 1932 in Pontotoc, Oklahoma to William Arthur and Leona Oma (Shasteen) Timmons. Margle graduated from Pontotoc High School as Valedictorian. She loved caring for nieces and nephews. She went to Kansas to marry the love of her life, Herman Skiles, at the Cowley County Courthouse on May 11, 1954. They shared life and love for 63 years, raising four children on the S.E.A. Ranch.

Margle was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, a daughter, Hope, all eight of her brothers and sisters, and many beloved brothers and sisters-in-law.

She is survived by sons, Doug Skiles of Slidell, LA; Mark (Jennifer) Skiles of Clinton, OK; her daughter Gaye (Chris) Mackey of Atlanta, KS; her grandchildren, Andrew Skiles, Lindsay (Michael) Robinson, Shelly (Ryan) Vinyard, Dalton, Mariah, and Savannah Skiles, Lauren (Johnny) Oustalet, Blake (Heidi) Mackey, Emily Mackey; seven great grandchildren with one on the way; and a sister-in-law Erra Timmons.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Pontotoc Cemetery in Pontotoc, Oklahoma. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, July 8, 2020 from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.

Memorials have been established in Margle's name for the Pontotoc Cemetery and for Hopeful Hearts Horse Camp. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
