MARGARET M. MORTENSON, 97, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Sunday morning, March 6, 2011 at Good Samaritan Society in Winfield.
Born December 21, 1914 in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Michael and Katherine (McMinimon) Morrison. She was raised and received her education in Boston. She attended and graduated from a four year college with her degree in Nursing.
She started her training at the Boston City Hospital and later would work for American Airlines. She attained the highest position of Chief Skipper in the Admirals Club prior to retirement. After she retired, she went back to work in the nursing field as a discharge planner, and retired again at the age of 65.
Her family includes:
Her son: Paul Mortenson and wife, Alana of Mulvane, Kansas; and
Her grandchildren: Shane Mortenson of California; and Belinda Jones and husband, Kent of Wichita, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, James, Vincent, and Paul and her sister, Claire.
Private family services will take place at Miles Funeral Service.
A memorial has been established in Margaret's name for Good Samaritan Society in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
