MARGARET ANN CARROLL, 66, of Newkirk, Oklahoma, passed away Friday morning, March 29, 2013 at her home.

Born on August 22, 1946 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Gilbert Lee and Florence Aldeene (Mowder) Thomson Sr. She was raised and received her education in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School in 1964. She later attended and graduated from Cowley County Community College.

She was united in marriage to William E. Johnson and they made their home in Oxford. The couple later divorced.

Margaret later married Aluburn Craven. They later divorced.

She was united in marriage to Graydon Orran Carroll on July 25, 2002 in Newkirk. Mr. Carroll preceded her in death on April 10, 2011.

Margaret enjoyed crafts, beadwork, scrapbooking, genealogy, gardening and ornithology.

Her family includes:
Her sons: William A. Johnson of Russellville, AR; Lewis L. Johnson and wife Deborah of Pauls Valley, OK; James W. Johnson and wife Litisha of Arkansas City, KS;
Her daughter: Donna L. Pond and husband Daniel of Waterloo, IA;
Her sisters: Judith Sumner and husband Bill of Muldrow, OK; Barbara Schultz and husband Brad of Oxford, KS; and Linda Wolff of Winfield, KS;
Her grandchildren: Amanda, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Courtnie, Athena, Chyenne, Skyla, Finnegan, Austin, Colton, Devin and Haylee; and
Her great-grandchildren: Phillip and Aiden.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sons, Owen E. Johnson and William E. Johnson Jr.; her brother, Gilbert Lee Thomson Jr., and her sister, Mary Ellen Bruner.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery north of Arkansas City. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 2, 2013 and the family will greet friends during that time.

A memorial has been established in Margaret's name for the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
